Design a museum exhibition room and store

Participants are put into groups of four or five people, of mixed specialities. Each group imagines itself to be the design team for a local museum of cultural history located somewhere exotic.

You will be supplied with meteorological data for the location and a psychrometric chart.

There are no financial restrictions to your proposal but you must take into consideration the available local characteristics and resources: climate, materials and human skills.

You must agree a climate specification for the exhibition room and for the storage area and then propose low energy ways of achieving this. Pest control and air pollution control are also relevant matters.

The exhibition and storage should be 1000 m2 each, on one level with about 5 m ceiling height. Don't go into elaborate detail about facilities for conservation or personnel, but do take into consideration the handling and transport of objects.

The result of your collaboration will be a sketch of the building and a description of the climate control system and building materials. Each group should prepare an oral presentation to the whole class, and a report for the wiki - which will become a souvenir of your participation.
